Great evening for the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad at the 2018 PG County Volunteer Fire/ EMS Association Convention Awards Night. Station 49 picked up four awards.
Recently, a pair of tickets for a University of Maryland football game were donated to the Rescue Squad. Jojo Harding was selected to receive the tickets for going above and beyond the last few months by helping out with staffing multiple nights a week, mentoring Rookies, and preparing to start the suppression driver process.
Monday night crew conducted some line deployment training this week.
Rescue Engine 49 and Paramedic Ambulance 49 on scene last night for the vehicle collision at Rt 1 and Gorman Ave. Three patients transported to an area hospital.
Last night Water Rescue 49 was dispatched for the vehicle stranded in floodwaters. Units arrived on scene to find moving water on Brock Bridge Rd. Two vehicles were stranded, 3 patients were extracted.
