At around 2230, Rescue Squad 849 and Chief 849 were alerted to respond to the area of Laurel Bowie Road and Muirkirk Road for a report of an auto accident.
Upon arrival, Rescue Squad and Chief 849 found a two vehicle accident with one car on its side. One patient was confirmed trapped.
Chief 849 assumed command at this time and the crew from the Rescue Squad began to work on extricating the patient.
With the car on its side, the crew had to remove the entire roof of the vehicle in order to safely extricate the patient.
It took about 15 minutes to stabilize and extricate the patient. The patient was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
